The game in Vilnius was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Silute (9-8) played at the court of seventh ranked Stekas (8-9). Stekas did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 93-75 on Saturday. Stekas forced 19 Silute turnovers. Swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-1991) notched 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Mantas Serksnas (200-1996) supported him with 17 points. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Josh Alexander (202-2000, college: American) did not help to save the game for Silute. Julius Liesis (198-1999) added 11 points, 5 assists and 7 steals. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stekas have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Stekas maintains seventh position with 8-9 record. Loser Silute dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Stekas will meet at home Palanga (#9) in the next round. Silute will play against Neptunas-Akv. and hope to secure a win.
