Regular Season Round 9: Kapfenberg - Wels 77-72

The game between third ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (6-3) and eleventh ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (3-6) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels were defeated by Kapfenberg Bulls in a tough game in Kapfenberg 72-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Raiffeisen Flyers Wels. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 24-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-77 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American center Brad Greene (210-1998, college: UC Irvine) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds. Serbian forward Nemanja Krstic (205-1993) chipped in 17 points. Four Kapfenberg Bulls players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was German guard Christian von Fintel (190-1990) who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Chase Jeter (208-1997, college: Arizona) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Kapfenberg Bulls moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Furstenfeld. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels at the other side keep the third position with three games lost. They share it with Gmunden and UBSC Graz. Kapfenberg Bulls is looking forward to face league's leader BC Vienna on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will play against the league's second-placed Gunners Oberwart where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
