There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Bargteheide (5-6) defeated on the road 4th ranked Aschersleben (7-4) 83-78 on Saturday. Bargteheide made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Aschersleben turnovers. The winners were led by point guard Abdulai Abaker (185-1996) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Jeremy Ingram (183-1991, college: AAMU) supported him with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Bargteheide's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds by Noah Litzbach (196-2000) did not help to save the game for Aschersleben. American forward DaJuan Moorer (206, college: Lander) added 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Bargteheide maintains seventh position with 5-6 record, which they share with Rendsburg. Aschersleben at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Berlin BG 2000. Bargteheide will meet at home Rendsburg (#8) in the next round. Aschersleben will play against Berlin BG 2000 (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
