Very expected game when 10th ranked Arkadia Lions (2-7) were rolled over on the road by fifth ranked Gmunden Swans (6-3) 90-67 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-67. Gmunden Swans dominated on the defensive end, holding Arkadia Lions to just 7 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Arkadia Lions' 26. Gmunden Swans forced 22 Arkadia Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Benedikt Guettl (190-1994) stepped up and scored 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners and American power forward Urald King (198-1990, college: SE Oklahoma) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans' coach Anton Mirolybov felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
