Regular Season Round 9: Nesibe - Emlak 72-84

There was a minor upset in Ankara where 4th placed Nesibe (6-3) was defeated by sixth ranked Emlak (6-3) 84-72 on Sunday. Emlak made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian guard Nirra Fields (175-1993, college: UCLA) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Megan Walker (185-1998, college: UConn, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-North Macedonian forward Merritt Hempe (190-1994, college: Georgia) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and guard Derin Yaya (174-1997) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Emlak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Nesibe. Emlak's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Galatasaray.
