Regular Season Round 9: TED Ankara - Antalya 96-89

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Antalya (2-7) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked TED Ankara (6-3) 96-89 on Sunday. TED Ankara made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game, while Antalya only scored nine points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was American center Brandon Walters (208-1995, college: MTSU) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Ricky Tarrant (188-1993, college: Memphis) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). TED Ankara's coach Emrah Benli used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Yunus Cankaya (199-1985) who recorded 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American center Tyere Marshall (206-1997, college: Rider) added 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Four TED Ankara and five Antalya players scored in double figures. TED Ankara moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Final Spor. Loser Antalya keeps the fourteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Bornova. TED Ankara's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ankara to the arena OGM Orman.
