Regular Season Round 9: SKM I - VKKM 88-68

Round 9 most important game was a defeat of league's leader VKKM (7-2). They were crushed by fifth ranked SKM I (6-2) 88-68 on Monday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of VKKM. The game without a history. SKM I led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to VKKM's 38. SKM I had a 38-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Nojus Kuliesa (185) stepped up and scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and Robertas Velicko (-2005) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). SKM I's coach Ignas Pagalys used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Tomas Zelenskij (195-2005) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Justas Ziubrys (183-2005) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SKM I moved-up to third place. VKKM at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by VKM. VKKM will play next round against Perkunas trying to make it back to the top of the standings. SKM I will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Saule in Siauliai.
