Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Braunschweig (2-7) lost on the road to tenth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (4-5) 95-79 on Saturday. MLP Academics Heidelberg dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Braunschweig's 32 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. American point guard Eric Washington (183-1993, college: Miami, OH) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 assists for the winning side and Belgian forward Vincent Kesteloot (197-1995) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Robin Amaize (196-1994) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international David Kramer (198-1997) added 17 points respectively for Braunschweig in the defeat. Five MLP Academics Heidelberg and four Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. MLP Academics Heidelberg moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Braunschweig lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Bayreuth. MLP Academics Heidelberg will meet MBC (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Braunschweig will play against the league's second-placed Bayern Muenchen where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
