There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked MBC (3-5) defeated on the road 13th ranked Brose Bamberg (3-6) 98-90 on Sunday. MBC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Kris Clyburn (198-1996, college: UNLV) nailed 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Martin Breunig (203-1992, college: Montana) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. MBC's coach Igor Jovovic used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Kevin Wohlrath (197-1995) came up with 18 points and American Amir Bell (193-1996, college: Princeton) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Brose Bamberg in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. MBC moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Brose Bamberg dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Crailsheim. MBC will meet at home higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brose Bamberg will play against BG Goettingen and hope to secure a win.
