There was no surprise when 7th ranked Seawolves (4-5) lost to fifth ranked EWE Baskets (7-3) in Oldenburg 90-99 on Sunday. EWE Baskets outrebounded Seawolves 39-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American players dominated the game. Trey Drechsel (198-1996, college: GCU) nailed 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Dewayne Russell (180-1994, college: GCU) accounted for 14 points and 9 assists. Point guard JeQuan Lewis (185-1994, college: VCU, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and Derrick Alston Jr (206-1997, college: Boise St.) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Seawolves in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. EWE Baskets maintains fifth place with 7-3 record. Seawolves lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
