Regular Season Round 12: Prienai - Siauliai 63-81
Date: December 12, 2022
There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Prienai (0-12) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Siauliai (6-6) 81-63 on Monday. Siauliai dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Prienai's 24 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Prienai 45-22 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Danish-Ivorian center Jonas Zohore (210-1991, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Arminas Urbutis (206-1986, college: Hofstra) who added 18 points during the contest. Four Siauliai players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Kyan Anderson (180-1992, college: TCU) with 15 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Siauliai maintains seventh position with 6-6 record. Loser Prienai still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Siauliai will meet league's second-placed Rytas in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Prienai will play against Juventus (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
