There was a surprise result in Istanbul where seventh ranked Besiktas (5-5) outscored much higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (6-4) 72-46 on Friday. Besiktas forced 27 Pinar Karsiyaka turnovers. Point guard Yagiz Aksu (195-2006) fired 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Berat Tunc (-2004) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Eylem Eminoglu (-2005) produced 9 points and 7 rebounds and Ilkay Cevizci (-2005) added 9 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Besiktas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Merkezefendi. Loser Pinar Karsiyaka dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Darussafaka and Galatasaray. Besiktas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Darussafaka.
