Regular Season Round 11: Darussafaka - Pinar Karsiyaka 71-87

The most shocking disappointment of round 11 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Dacka (6-4) by sixth ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (7-3) who outscored them by 16 points 87-71. It ended the five-game winning streak of Dacka. It was a great evening for American guard Errick McCollum (188-1988, college: Goshen) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 5 assists. Colombian swingman Braian Angola-Rodas (198-1994, college: FSU) helped adding 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. American point guard Markel Starks (187-1991, college: Georgetown, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 21 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) and British center Gabriel Olaseni (211-1991, college: Iowa) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pinar Karsiyaka have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bursaspor. Dacka at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Pinar Karsiyaka is looking forward to face Gaziantep (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dacka's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Besiktas.
