Regular Season Round 13: Ovarense - CAB Madeira 85-93

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked CAB Madeira (3-10) beat on the road 4th placed Ovarense (8-5) 93-85 on Saturday. American players dominated the game. Point guard Michael Almonacy (183, college: App State) nailed 30 points and 6 assists for the winning side and forward Jett Speelman (201-1994, college: Denison) accounted for 20 points. Guard Jordan Robertson (190-1996, college: Colgate, agency: Green Sports Management) came up with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jacoby Armstrong (201-1995, college: UNH) added 17 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for Ovarense in the defeat. Four CAB Madeira and five Ovarense players scored in double figures. Ovarense's coach Joao Tiago tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. CAB Madeira maintains eleventh place with 3-10 record. Ovarense lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Oliveirense. CAB Madeira will meet bottom-ranked Sangalhos (#12) on the road in the next round. Ovarense will play against Vitoria SC (#9) in Guimaraes and hope to secure a win.
