Everything could happen in Karlsruhe at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked OrangeAcademy and 11th ranked Arvato College Wizards had identical 2-7 record. But Arvato College Wizards were not able to use a home court advantage and were crushed by the opponent from Ulm 94-69 on Saturday night. OrangeAcademy made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Ben Karbe (203-2002, college: GVSU) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Point guard Maximilian Langenfeld (195-2003) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Five OrangeAcademy players scored in double figures. American point guard Christian Rodriguez (180-1999, college: Cornerstone) produced 23 points and 5 assists and Christoph Rupp (195-1994) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Arvato College Wizards' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. OrangeAcademy (3-7) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Arvato College Wizards lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with Herford. OrangeAcademy will meet at home higher ranked Kangaroos (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Arvato College Wizards will play against Bayern (#10) in Munich and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
