Regular Season Round 14: Giessen Ak. - Saarlouis 86-95

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Saarlouis (13-2) defeated on the road 13th ranked Giessen Ak. (3-11) 95-86 on Saturday. Saarlouis dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Giessen Ak.'s 34. American center Jordan Camper (203, college: Lincoln, PA) notched 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import guard Ricky Easterling (189-1983, college: Bridgewater) supported him with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Saarlouis' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 25 points and 7 assists by point guard Jon Ukaj (186-2005) did not help to save the game for Giessen Ak.. American swingman Terry Winn III (201-1995, college: UTRGV) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saarlouis have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-2 record. Newly promoted Giessen Ak. keeps the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Aachen. Saarlouis will meet at home Tuebingen 2 (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giessen Ak. will play against Ulm BBU 01 and hope to secure a win.
