There was no surprise in Nuernberg where 15th ranked Duesseldorf (4-8) was outplayed by eighth ranked Falcons (7-5) 95-62 on Sunday. Falcons made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Falcons outrebounded Duesseldorf 37-21 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Duesseldorf's players. The best player for the winners was center Moritz Krimmer (202-2000) who scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Thomas Wilder (190-1995, college: W.Michigan) chipped in 15 points. Four Falcons players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tray Hollowell (190-1998, college: Morehead St., agency: Players Group) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds and center Lennart Boner (209-1993) added 5 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Falcons moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Duesseldorf lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Falcons will meet Schwenningen (#17) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Duesseldorf will play against Gladiators and hope to secure a win.
