An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ramnicu Valcea. Second ranked Rm Valcea II faced 4th ranked Brasov. Host Rm Valcea II (7-1) defeated guests from Brasov (4-5) 92-80. The game was mostly controlled by Rm Valcea II. Brasov was better in third quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rm Valcea II brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American Ajay Singh (199, college: Westmont, agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Norbert Kelemen (192-1999) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Rm Valcea II players scored in double figures. Forward Sergiu Souca (200-1986) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Ovidiu Stochici (182-1995) added 32 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Brasov. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Rm Valcea II maintains second position with 7-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Phoenix Corona. Brasov at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Rm Valcea II will play against Gheorgheni (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Brasov will play against Cluj CSU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
