There was no surprise when 17th ranked Schwenningen (3-10) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Falcons (8-5) 82-72 on Wednesday. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Thomas Wilder (190-1995, college: W.Michigan) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and forward Rocky Kreuser (206-1999, college: NDSU) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Five Falcons players scored in double figures. Falcons' coach Vytautas Buzas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Delante Jones (194-1995, college: Seattle) responded with 17 points and point guard Casey Benson (191-1995, college: GCU) scored 16 points and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Falcons. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dresden. Loser Schwenningen dropped to the sixteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Bochum. Falcons will meet at home Kirchheim Knights (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Schwenningen will play against Lions in Karlsruhe and hope to secure a win.
