Everything could happen in Istanbul at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Manisa and 13th ranked Emlak 2 had identical 4-10 record. But Emlak 2 was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Manisa 53-45 on Friday night. Manisa held Emlak 2 to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 28.6 percent accuracy of the winners and had 23 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Emlak 2 only scored five points from the stripe. Manisa forced 20 Emlak 2 turnovers. It was a great evening for American center Tearra Banks (188-1995, college: Austin Peay) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sule Aktas (-1998) helped adding 8 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Feray Laic (185-2005) with 4 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Berfin Sertoglu (171-2004) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Emlak 2's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Manisa (5-10) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Antalya. Emlak 2 lost seventh consecutive game. Emlak 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Urla and Yalova Vip. Manisa will meet higher ranked Botas GA (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Emlak 2 will play against Karsiyaka (#16) and hope to secure a win.
