The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Arad as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Arad smashed 9th ranked Targu Mures at home 79-44. The game without a history. Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Targu Mures to just 7 points in second quarter. Arad dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Targu Mures' 22. Arad forced 23 Targu Mures turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Targu Mures' players. American forward Trinity Baptiste (183-1998, college: Arizona) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-1981) contributed with 18 points and 9 assists for the winners. American guard Keilanei Cooper (175, college: UC Riverside, agency: DC Sports) answered with 10 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import swingman Tazsa Garrett-Hammett (180, college: UWA) added 2 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Targu Mures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Arad (9-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Sf.Gheorghe. Newly promoted Targu Mures keep the ninth place with eight games lost. Targu Mures will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Arad will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Sf.Gheorghe in Sfantu Gheorghe.
