There was an upset in Istanbul where higher ranked Dacka (6-5) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Besiktas (3-9) 98-84 on Saturday. Besiktas made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jordan Usher (201-1999, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 assists and the other American import Matt Mooney (189-1997, college: Texas Tech) who added 20 points and 5 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Markel Starks (187-1991, college: Georgetown, agency: BeoBasket) with 22 points and 6 assists and British center Gabriel Olaseni (211-1991, college: Iowa) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Dacka's coach rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Besiktas maintains fifteenth position with 3-9 record. Loser Dacka dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. Besiktas will meet higher ranked Bursaspor (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Dacka will play against Tofas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
