There was a minor upset in Izmit where higher ranked Fenerbahce 2 (5-7) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Kocaeli (5-7) 73-64 on Saturday. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was forward Nick Banyard (203-1994, college: UCF, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Desure Buie (185-1997, college: Hofstra) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists. Kocaeli's coach Ahmet Yolcu allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman DShawn Schwartz (201-1999, college: GMU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Marreon Jackson (185, college: Arizona St.) added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively. Kocaeli moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Fenerbahce 2. Kocaeli will meet higher ranked TED Ankara (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fenerbahce 2 will play against Bornova (#15) and hope to secure a win.
