Important game to mention about took place in Yalova. Fifteenth ranked Yalova Vip (4-11) saved a 3-point victory at home edging second-best Fenerbahce G. (12-3) 72-69 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Fenerbahce G.. Yalova Vip made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American guard Amber Smith (180-1998, college: Missouri) who led her team to a victory with 23 points. Center Basak Altunbey (189-1996) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Serbian Mina Djordjevic (188-1999) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Idil Sacalir (178-2002) added 19 points and 8 assists in the effort for Fenerbahce G.Four Fenerbahce G. players scored in double figures. Yalova Vip moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Urla and Emlak 2. Fenerbahce G. at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Yalova Vip will play against higher ranked Diba Ankara (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fenerbahce G. will play against Kirklareli (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
