Rather expected game in Bonn where 6th ranked Chemnitz (6-4) was defeated by third ranked Telekom Baskets (9-1) 80-73 on Monday. It was a great evening for American-North Macedonian point guard TJ Shorts (175-1997, college: UC Davis) who led his team to a victory scoring 38 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Chilean Sebastian Herrera (193-1997, agency: LUMANI 10.7) helped adding 11 points. Shorts is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Lithuanian point guard Arnas Velicka (195-1999) responded with 10 points and 8 assists and Hungarian Marko Filipovity (204-1996) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Telekom Baskets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-1 record behind leader ALBA. Loser Chemnitz keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Goettingen. Telekom Baskets will meet at home Skyliners (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chemnitz will play against the league's leader ALBA Berlin (#1) and hope to secure a win.
