Very important is a road loss of third ranked Phoenix Hagen (9-5) against seventh ranked Artland Dragons (8-6) on Monday night. Visiting Phoenix Hagen was defeated by Artland Dragons in Quakenbrueck 103-87. Artland Dragons players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American guard William Christmas (196-1996, college: CPP) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized French Joanic Gruettner (198-1995) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Center Marcel Kessen (207-1997, agency: LUMANI 10.7) responded with 20 points and American JJ Mann (198-1991, college: Belmont, agency: GoEmpire Group) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Five Artland Dragons and four Phoenix Hagen players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Artland Dragons moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Phoenix Hagen at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Dresden. Artland Dragons will play against SparkassenStars (#16) in Bochum in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
