Regular Season Round 11: Darussafaka - Besiktas 70-77

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Istanbul: Besiktas (#5) and Darussafaka (#4). Darussafaka was defeated at home 70-77 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a great evening for point guard Yagiz Aksu (195-2006) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Point guard Eren Erdogan (186-2006) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Bugra Cal (204-2004) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Ege Akcay (198-2006) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Besiktas (6-5) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Darussafaka and Galatasaray. Besiktas will meet Tesvikiye (#7) on the road in the next round. Darussafaka will play against Merkezefendi in Denizl and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
