An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Botevgrad. Top-ranked Rilski faced second-best Balkan. Guests from Samokov (12-0) defeated host Balkan (8-3) 83-68. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Balkan. Rilski looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Demajeo Wiggins (208-1997, college: BGSU) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Deyan Karamfilov (180-1994, agency: BIG) chipped in 7 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Four Rilski players scored in double figures. Rilski's coach Ludmil Hadjisotirov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Calvin Godfrey (204-1990, college: Memphis, agency: BIG) who recorded 14 points and 4 steals and the former international swingman Hristo Zahariev (198-1990) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Rilski have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Defending champion Balkan keeps the second place with three games lost. Rilski are looking forward to face Chernomorets (#7) in Burgas in the next round where they are favorite. Balkan will play at home against CSKA (#5) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
