Regular Season Round 12: Bonn - Frankfurt 89-66
Date: December 29, 2022
Very expected game when 16th ranked Skyliners (3-9) were smashed by third ranked Telekom Baskets (10-1) in Bonn 89-66 on Thursday. Telekom Baskets outrebounded Skyliners 39-22 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Skyliners' players. The winners were led by American Tyson Ward (198-1997, college: NDSU) who scored that evening 29 points and 9 rebounds and New Zealand-Irish Finn Delany (200-1995, college: SW Baptist) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 21 points by the former international Lukas Wank (199-1997) did not help to save the game for Skyliners. The former international point guard Joshua Obiesie (198-2000) added 15 points. Telekom Baskets have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with ALBA. Loser Skyliners keep the sixteenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Bayreuth. Telekom Baskets will meet ratiopharm Ulm (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Skyliners will play against the league's leader ALBA Berlin (#1) and hope to secure a win.
