Not a big story in a game in Traiskirchen where 12th ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (3-11) were rolled over by ninth ranked Arkadia Lions (5-9) 97-61 on Thursday. The game without a history. Arkadia Lions led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Arkadia Lions outrebounded Furstenfeld Panthers 44-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Latvian center Ilja Gromovs (211-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. American guard Evan Taylor (196-1996, college: Nebraska) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Four Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. Arkadia Lions' coach Radomir Mijanovic felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Norwegian power forward Andrija Blatancic (201-1995, college: St.Cloud St.) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Jaylen Butz (206-1999, college: WKU, agency: Players Group) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Arkadia Lions moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Kapfenberg. Furstenfeld Panthers lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Arkadia Lions will meet Timberwolves (#11) in the next round. Furstenfeld Panthers will play against UBSC Graz and hope to secure a win.
