There was an upset when higher ranked Bogazici (8-8) lost to fifteenth ranked Urla (5-11) in Izmir 65-70 on Friday. Urla outrebounded Bogazici 37-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by point guard Revaziye Donmez (-1988) who scored that evening 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and American center Sharon Houston (191-1988, college: IU Northwest) supported her with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Even 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by naturalized Swedish guard Maryam Gultekin (166-1990) did not help to save the game for Bogazici. Point guard Melisa Korkmaz (172-1997) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Four Bogazici players scored in double figures. Urla moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Yalova Vip and Antalya. Bogazici lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Elazig Karabulut. Urla will meet league's leader Tarsus in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bogazici will play against Antalya (#13) and hope to secure a win.
