There was no surprise in Ankara where 11th ranked Ormanspor (4-9) was crushed by second ranked Fenerbahce (11-2) 100-72 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Fenerbahce especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American point guard Kayla McBride (180-1992, college: Notre Dame) stepped up and scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-1992, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 21 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American power forward Reshanda Gray (192-1993, college: California) responded with 30 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Damla Gezgin (175-1990) scored 15 points and 4 assists. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Fenerbahce. Defending champion maintains second place with 11-2 record behind leader Mersin. Ormanspor lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Fenerbahce will meet league's leader Mersin on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ormanspor will play against Botas A. (#5) and hope to secure a win.
