Regular Season Round 23: Suduva-Mantinga - Zalgiris II 69-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Marijampole. Third ranked Suduva-Mantinga faced leader Zalgiris II. Host Suduva-Mantinga (19-3) defeated guests from Kaunas (19-5) 69-65. It was a great evening for Aurelijus Pukelis (205-1994) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Tautvydas Kliucinykas (190-1995) helped adding 5 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Motiejus Krivas (214-2004) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Gytis Nemeiksa (201-2001) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Suduva-Mantinga have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Loser Zalgiris II dropped to the third position with five games lost. Suduva-Mantinga will meet at home Stekas (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zalgiris II will play against Rytas 2 (#13) in Vilnius and hope to secure a win.
