Regular Season Round 10: Druskininku - Kauno-LSMU 41-88

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Druskininku (0-10) was crushed at home by seventh ranked Kauno-LSMU (4-4) 88-41 on Wednesday. Kauno-LSMU dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Druskininku's 22. Kauno-LSMU forced 24 Druskininku turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kauno-LSMU looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Druskininku's players. Guard Miglija Zalkauskaite (175-1997) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Gaile Kudzmaityte (174-1998) chipped in 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Kauno-LSMU players scored in double figures. At the losing side Ugne Viscinyte responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds and Karolina Kardokaite scored 13 points. Druskininku's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Kauno-LSMU maintains seventh position with 4-4 record. Newly promoted Druskininku still closes the standings with ten games lost. Kauno-LSMU will meet at home Kedainiu (#8) in the next round.
