Regular Season Round 23: Silute - Kretinga 83-74

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Kretinga (9-15) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Silute (12-12) 83-74 on Thursday. Silute dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kretinga's 28. It was a great evening for Linas Lekavicius (185-1984, college: American) who led his team to a victory scoring 10 points and 8 rebounds. Canadian guard Jalen Warren (188-1999, college: UIC) helped adding 14 points. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Silute's coach Simonas Serapinas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Martynas Mazeika (193-1985, agency: Interperformances) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and point guard Edgaras Danys (186-2000) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Silute maintains sixth place with 12-12 record. Loser Kretinga keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Palanga and Stekas. Silute will meet league's leader Telsiai on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kretinga will play against Mazeikiai (#5) and hope to secure a win.
