Very expected game when 9th ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (5-10) were rolled over on the road by third ranked Gmunden Swans (11-3) 96-77 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-77. Gmunden Swans forced 22 Kapfenberg Bulls turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international guard Daniel Friedrich (181-1992) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gmunden Swans have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Kapfenberg Bulls at the other side keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Gmunden Swans will meet at home Gunners Oberwart (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kapfenberg Bulls will play against Furstenfeld Panthers (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
