There was no surprise in Bonn where 10th ranked Seawolves (5-8) were crushed by second ranked Telekom Baskets (12-1) 99-71 on Friday. Telekom Baskets made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American-North Macedonian point guard TJ Shorts (175-1997, college: UC Davis) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American Tyson Ward (198-1997, college: NDSU) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Shorts is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. American point guard Tyler Nelson (191-1995, college: Fairfield) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import Derrick Alston Jr (206-1997, college: Boise St.) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Telekom Baskets have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with ALBA. Seawolves lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Crailsheim. Telekom Baskets will meet league's leader ALBA Berlin on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Seawolves will have a break next round.
