Regular Season Round 13: Zlatorog - Ilirija 61-78

Everything could happen in Lasko at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Ilirija and 9th ranked Zlatorog had identical 3-9 record. But Zlatorog was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Ljubljana 78-61 on Friday night. The game without a history. Ilirija led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Russian center Aleksandr Shashkov (211-2000) stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Anej Orel (203-2002) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side forward Blaz Tratar (200-2005) responded with 7 points and 9 rebounds and Montenegrin-Serbian point guard Filip Samojlovic (183-1990) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ilirija maintains eighth place with 4-9 record. Zlatorog at the other side keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Ilirija will meet at home higher ranked Rogaska (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zlatorog will play against Sencur Gor. (#3) in Kranj and hope to secure a win.
