Regular Season Round 14: Bornova - TED Ankara 65-92
Date: January 7, 2023
Very expected game when 15th ranked Bornova (2-12) was smashed by fifth ranked TED Ankara (9-5) in Izmir 92-65 on Saturday. American center Brandon Walters (208-1995, college: MTSU) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and point guard Omer Kucuk (188-2001) supported him with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four TED Ankara players scored in double figures. TED Ankara's coach Emrah Benli felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks by American power forward Brandon Huffman (208-1998, college: JSU) did not help to save the game for Bornova. Forward Cagatay Ozkan (198-2001) added 9 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. TED Ankara moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Final Spor and Sigortam.net. Bornova lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. They share it with Antalya. TED Ankara will meet at home Fenerbahce 2 (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bornova will play against Yalovaspor (#7) and hope to secure a win.
