Regular Season Round 14: Tofas - Bursaspor 82-83

The most exciting game of round 14 in the BSL took place in Bursa. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Tofas (6-8) to fourth ranked Bursaspor (10-4) 83-82 on Saturday evening. Bursaspor shot 21 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Tofas only scored three points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for Bursaspor especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Tofas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international swingman Onuralp Bitim (196-1999) scored 20 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Greek-American center Zach Auguste (208-1993, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Bursaspor players scored in double figures. American guard Rob Gray (186-1994, college: Houston) responded with 21 points, 8 assists and 4 steals (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and Canadian point guard Tyler Ennis (188-1994, college: Syracuse) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Tofas' coach Dimitris Priftis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bursaspor have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Pinar Karsiyaka. Tofas at the other side dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Konyaspor. Bursaspor is looking forward to face league's leader Fenerbahce in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tofas will play on the road against Acibadem (#9) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
