Regular Season Round 14: Mamak - Fenerbahce 2 84-70

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Fenerbahce 2 (6-8) lost to twelfth ranked Mamak (6-8) in Ankara 70-84 on Saturday. Mamak made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Fenerbahce 2 turnovers. Strangely Fenerbahce 2 outrebounded Mamak 39-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Myles Mack (178-1993, college: Rutgers) notched 19 points, 8 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and forward Umar Atin (199-1994) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by American swingman DShawn Schwartz (201-1999, college: GMU) did not help to save the game for Fenerbahce 2. His fellow American import guard Marreon Jackson (185, college: Arizona St.) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mamak moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Fenerbahce 2. Mamak will meet higher ranked Sigortam.net (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fenerbahce 2 will play against TED Ankara and hope to secure a win.
