Regular Season Round 24: Rytas 2 - Zalgiris II 77-53

Fifth defeat of league's leader Zalgiris II (19-5) against thirteenth ranked Rytas 2 (7-16) 77-53 was the most important game of the last round. Rytas 2 made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Zalgiris II turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Zalgiris II helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Adas Simonis (192-2001) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. Guard Arnas Adomavicius (191-2000, college: UNCG) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Motiejus Krivas (214-2004) replied with 6 points and 10 rebounds and center Aleksas Bieliauskas (206-2005) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Zalgiris II. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rytas 2 maintains thirteenth position with 7-16 record. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Telsiai. Just two games before the end of Regular Season and it may be the most important game of the season next round when Zalgiris II faces Kretinga trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Rytas 2 will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Vytis in Sakiai.
