Regular Season Round 12: Raiders - UDW Alligators 78-77
Date: January 7, 2023
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Raiders Tirol as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Mustangs) loss. Raiders Tirol edged 5th ranked Alligators in Innsbruck 78-77. The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 21-8 Alligators' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 78-77 at the end of the game. Raiders Tirol made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Alligators turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian guard Jernej Ledl (195-1997) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Slovenian forward Gasper Rojko (200-1996) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-1984, college: Chaminade) with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Slovakian forward Branislav Balvan (195-2000) scored 17 points. Four Alligators players scored in double figures. Alligators' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with BBU Salzburg. Alligators at the other side keep the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Piraten and KOS. Alligators will play next round against Lions trying to get back on the winning streak. Raiders Tirol will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Blackbirds at Jennersdorf.
