Very important is a home loss of third ranked Titans (10-6) against sixth ranked Phoenix Hagen (10-6) on Saturday night. Host Titans were defeated by Phoenix Hagen in a tough game in Dresden 83-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Titans. They outrebounded Titans 41-26 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kyle Castlin (193-1996, college: Xavier) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds and Marvin Omuvwie (195-1997) who added 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Chase Adams (176-1988, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Daniel Kirchner (187-1997) scored 15 points. Five Phoenix Hagen and four Titans players scored in double figures. Titans' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Phoenix Hagen moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Titans. Phoenix Hagen will meet at home SparkassenStars (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Titans will play against Kirchheim Knights (#11) and hope to secure a win.
