Very predictable result when third ranked Samsunspor (11-3) rolled over on the road 14th ranked Antalya (2-12) 96-64 on Saturday. Samsunspor dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Antalya's 16. They outrebounded Antalya 39-21 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Samsunspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Antalya's players. Forward Goktug Bas (201-2001) notched 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Ege Yasar (-1996) supported him with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Samsunspor's coach Ilker Salman felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 4 assists by guard Alican Guney (194-1989) did not help to save the game for Antalya. The former international forward Yunus Cankaya (199-1985) added 14 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Samsunspor maintains third position with 11-3 record having just two points less than leader Cagdas BS. Antalya lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Bornova. Samsunspor will meet at home OGM Orman (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Antalya will play against Balikesir and hope to secure a win.
