There was a minor upset when 4th placed Spartak Pleven (7-6) lost at home to sixth ranked Beroe (6-7) 97-81. Beroe forced 21 Spartak Pleven turnovers. American guard Darius Hall (188, college: Bryant & Str OH) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners and Bosnian power forward Aleksandar Todorovic (206-1987, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 22 points and 17 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Dimitar Marincheshki (200-1990) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Ivko Ivkov (196-1995, agency: BIG) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Beroe and four Spartak Pleven players scored in double figures. Spartak Pleven's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Beroe maintains sixth place with 6-7 record. Spartak Pleven lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with CSKA. Beroe will play against bottom-ranked Shumen (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Spartak Pleven will play against Chernomorets (#7) in Burgas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
