Very expected game in Aveiro where 10th ranked CDEFF (3-10) was defeated by fourth ranked Esgueira (11-4) 66-52 on Saturday. Esgueira forced 26 CDEFF turnovers. The best player for the winners was American swingman Vashti Nwagbaraocha (181-1997, college: William Penn) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Venezuelan power forward Aguehil Fajardo (183-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Nwagbaraocha is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Dayna Rouse (185-1998, college: Longwood) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Cristina Freitas (168-2004) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Esgueira moved-up to second place, which they share with GDESSA and Sportiva. CDEFF at the other side keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Esgueira will meet bottom-ranked Vagos (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
