The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Sixers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sixers defeated 6th ranked Eagles in Sandersdorf 90-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Eagles. Sixers forced 23 Eagles turnovers. American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-1987, college: FPU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Serbian point guard Aleksa Kovacevic (187-2002) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. Emil Marshall (198-2000) replied with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and American point guard Trey McBride (188-1997, college: Northwood) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Eagles. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sixers (11-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Bernau. Eagles at the other side keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Eagles will play next round against Giessen Pointers trying to get back on the winning streak. Sixers will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Kangaroos in Iserlohn.
