Everything went according to plan in Ankara where second ranked Turk Telekom (11-3) beat 5th ranked Efes (9-5) 85-70 on Sunday. Turk Telekom shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was French forward Axel Bouteille (201-1995, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 30 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Jerian Grant (196-1992, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 13 points and 9 assists. American swingman Elijah Bryant (196-1995, college: BYU, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Will Clyburn (201-1990, college: Iowa St.) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Efes' coach let to play eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Turk Telekom maintains second position with 11-3 record behind leader Fenerbahce. Loser Efes keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Turk Telekom will meet Socar Petkim (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Efes will play against Merkezefendi (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
