There was a small surprise in Angra where tenth ranked Lusitania (6-10) defeated 7th ranked Vitoria SC (7-10) 90-86 on Sunday. Lusitania forced 20 Vitoria SC turnovers. The best player for the winners was Ugandan-American Deng Geu (203-1997, college: N.Texas) who scored 22 points. The former international center Daniel Relvao (208-1996, college: GMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Five Lusitania players scored in double figures. Lusitania's coach Nuno Barroso used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Zachary Simmons (208-1999, college: N.Texas, agency: Tropical Sports Agency) produced 25 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Anthony Roberts (193, college: Stony Brook, agency: Players Group) added 29 points respectively for the guests. Lusitania moved-up to ninth place. Loser Vitoria SC keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Esgueira. Lusitania will meet higher ranked Esgueira (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vitoria SC will play against the league's leader FC Porto and will have a slim chance for a victory.
